Mayor Justin Bibb Endorses Tim Ryan for U.S. Senate

At a roundtable with health care workers in Cleveland this morning, Mayor Justin Bibb endorsed Tim Ryan for U.S. Senate, citing Tim’s record of working to reinvest in Northeast Ohio and his commitment to creating new opportunities for Cleveland’s working families.

“I’m thrilled to endorse Tim Ryan, who has spent his career fighting for Ohio workers—no matter how difficult the battle or how tall the odds,” said Mayor Bibb. “In the Senate, Tim will keep working to make sure we’re ready to meet the urgent challenges we face, from raising wages and creating more good paying jobs, to putting people to work rebuilding our infrastructure, to investing in education so that all our kids can learn in safe, modern schools, and I look forward to working alongside him to deliver for Cleveland.”

“Mayor Bibb represents the next generation of leadership for our state, and I’m proud to have his support,” said Tim Ryan. “We’re at a turning point, and we need to be ready to go all-in on our team, so that our working families can thrive, our businesses can succeed, and cities like Cleveland have a bright future ahead of them. We’ve seen what happens when our cities get left behind and left off the menu, and we can’t afford to go back. In the Senate, I’ll keep working to keep working families here front and center, so that Cleveland can compete—and win.”

Tim continues to build grassroots support and momentum in his campaign to flip Ohio’s open U.S. Senate seat. In the fourth quarter of 2021, he raised a record-breaking $2.9 million—setting a new off-year record for a Senate candidate in Ohio. Additionally, Tim has been endorsed by Senator Sherrod Brown and Congresswomen Joyce Beatty and Marcy Kaptur, as well as two dozen labor unions and the Ohio AFL-CIO, nearly 250 state and local elected officials, and Democratic leaders and activists in every corner of Ohio.
